About the Event

Trailer  The Trouble With Being Born is a controversial but important film. About technology, but ultimately about what human beings are capable/likely to do with it, The Trouble With Being Born is the kind of Cinema that is thought provoking and unsettling because it takes us way out of our comfort zones and what we think of as being acceptable. Told in two parts, an Android child, at first with an older man (as a female) and then with an older woman (as a male) is clearly an interchangeable machine and because it is not human, expendable. However, because he/she looks human we, as the viewer, cannot but be drawn into the obvious moral dilemma. It's made by a woman and has unmistakeable European thematics.
